Real Wedding : Natalie & Jack
I've been waiting to share this beautiful wedding with you for a long time, it's taken me months to get organised!
A few words the bride and groom....
Our big day was held at Blake Hall in Ongar, Essex, a venue which we fell in love with at first sight (we booked it about 4 hours after seeing it for the first time!). We knew it was right for us, naturally beautiful, unfussy, classic and relaxed, everything we hoped that our wedding would be.
We were joined by 75 of our nearest and dearest, with our wedding ceremony being held in the newly converted “Hay Barn”, and our reception and evening celebrations held in the “Essex Barn”. With such a beautiful backdrop to our day, we opted for simple decorations of flowers, candles and coordinating stationery. We also happened to get married the Thursday before Easter, and as self-confessed chocoholics, this was a brilliant opportunity to incorporate a hint of an Easter theme!
Everything swimmingly, we couldn’t have chosen a better wedding party who made sure that everything went to plan, the staff at Blake Hall were superb, and our suppliers exceeded all of our expectations. If anything went wrong, we are still none-the-wiser!
Whilst the day went quickly (as the best days always do!) we cherished absolutely every moment, taking the time to speak to all of our guests and to sit back and appreciate the culmination of a year’s worth of efforts. Every bride and groom deserves to give themselves a pat on the back for the efforts they put in.
We followed a traditional format with all of the lovely things that a wedding brings, delicious food and drink, lots of smiles and laughter, and of course some happy tears along the way! The day wouldn’t have been complete though without the wonderful band we hired, a chance for us to dance the night away with everyone that we love – when else in life do you get that opportunity We really did have the best day ever!
Obviously, it’s difficult to pick a favourite part of a day which is essentially the favourite day of your life so far! But if we were to pick two stand-out moments from the day, it would have to be the ceremony, and being on the dancefloor with all of our friends and family in the evening. There is something immensely special about having all your favourite people in one place, at one time.
Our advice for brides - don’t get too caught up in the minute when planning – it’s easier said than done, but when the day comes it will be perfect no matter what! We were also so glad that we took the time before our wedding breakfast and between courses to go to each table to greet and speak to our guests – it’s more personal than a receiving line, and your guests really will appreciate it.
